Shepherd’s Tree Game Lodge, a 2 hr 39 min drive from Johannesburg, is a magnificent lodge concession awarded by the North West Parks and Tourism Board within the existing Pilanesberg Game Reserve. It lies in an exclusive-use zone in the south-western portion of the 57,250 hectare, Big 5 and malaria-free Reserve, offering commanding views of the distant bushveld amphitheatre.
The lodge offers 26 standard suites, 4 executive suites, which include a lounge and a private villa, all with a private patio overlooking the park. The standards suites can be converted into family suites, which include 2 en-suite rooms, a covered patio, a lounge area with 2 sleeper couches, and a TV. The private villa includes 2 en-suite rooms and a private plunge pool.
