Chobe Under Canvas

Botswana | Chobe National Park

Chobe Under Canvas is situated in northern Botswana’s famous Chobe National Park, a must-see wildlife destination accessed via Kasane Airport. Covering almost 11,000 km² (6,836 mi.²) it was the country’s first national park.  Kasane Airport is the closest airport to the camp. Staff will pick guests up from Kasane Airport, followed by a game drive to the camp. As per national park vehicle restrictions, it is not possible for guests to self-drive to the &Beyond Chobe Under Canvas camps.

Each of the five canvas tents boasts a comfortable double or twin bed, as well as an ensuite bathroom, separate flush WC, and an outdoor bucket shower – steaming hot water is available on request. A private butler is on hand to assist with any requirements. Well-worn game paths that meander through the safari tents and down to the water’s edge hold the promise of up-close-and-personal sightings.

Activities include twice-daily game drives on the scenic Chobe River and one half-day photographic boat safari aboard a custom-built Pangolin photographic boat. Game drives include beautiful views over the river, with very high densities of elephant, buffalo and hippo, as well as enormous crocodiles, lions, fish eagles, water monitors, and black-backed jackal. It’s also the only place in Botswana to see the Puku and Chobe bushbuck.
