Makanyi Private Game Lodge

This luxurious and exclusive safari lodge called Makanyane is situated on 1,800 hectares of private land within the 75,000 hectare malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve which is accessible from a few major South African cities and towns within a few hours’ drive and only a 1-2 hour drive from Gaborone airport in Botswana.

Eight luxurious suites have beautiful bathrooms that have under-floor heating as well as indoor and outdoor showers. The wide, folding doors can be opened to allow the noises and aromas of the surrounding bush to join you in the lavish freestanding bathtub.

The main lodge is shaded by a dense canopy of trees. Ancient Leadwood trees are a feature in the lounge and the dining room. The spacious lounge area has two rock fireplaces and opens out onto a wide wooden deck with views of the waterhole below. There is a bar and a dining room as well as a wine cellar, library, gym, spa, a curio shop, and swimming pool.
